WOW Alchemy Guide

Alchemy is probably the easiest crafting profession to level on World of Warcraft. It’s usually a good idea to wait to level your crafting professions until after your character is at level 40, but this is not actually the case with alchemy. You’ll want to choose herbalism as your other profession because this will make it much cheaper for you to level your alchemy. All you need to do then is use the herbs you collect to craft your potions and elixirs. It’s also possible to power level alchemy by purchasing everything on the auction house, but this is a very expensive way to go. If you’re an herbalist, the only thing you will need to buy a lot of to level alchemy is vials. These are available from trade good vendors throughout the game.

You’ll need to keep visiting alchemy trainers throughout the game to learn the next level of alchemy and pick up new recipes. When you reach alchemy level 325, you may also decide to choose an alchemy specialization. The specializations are unlocked through a set of quests offered by the alchemy trainer. Specializations include Potions, Elixirs, or Transmutations.

Here’s a breakdown of the alchemy levels to show you the easiest recipes to focus on. Of course you can always make other potions or elixirs if your character has need for them. It’s always a good idea to train on every recipe your trainer offers, whether you plan to make it or not.

WOW Alchemy Guide – Apprentice Alchemy

• Levels 1-60: Minor Healing Potions

WOW Alchemy Guide – Journeyman Alchemy

• Levels 60-110: Lesser Healing Potions
• Levels 110-130: Healing Potions

WOW Alchemy Guide – Expert Alchemy

• Levels 130-150: Lesser Mana Potions
• Levels 155-185: Greater Healing Potions

WOW Alchemy Guide – Artisan Alchemy

• Levels 185-215: Elixirs of Agility
• Levels 215-230: Elixirs of Greater Defense and Greater Mana Potions
• Level 230-231: Philosopher’s Stone- Make this and keep it for later. You’ll have to buy the recipe for it from a vendor in Gadgetzan.
• Levels 231-250: Superior Healing Potions and Elixirs of Greater Water Breathing (You can make some solid bank by selling these on the auction house, and you shouldn’t have any trouble unloading them.)
• Levels 250-275: Elixirs of Shadow Power, Elixirs of Greater Agility, and Superior Mana Potions.

WOW Alchemy Guide – Master Alchemy

• Levels 275-300: Major Healing Potions
• Levels 300-335: Elixirs of Healing Power, Volatile Healing Potions, Major Mana Potions, Elixirs of Major Strength.
• Levels 335-340: Mad Alchemists Potions, Super Healing Potions
• Levels 340-360: Super Mana Potions (This recipe is available from vendors in Blade’s Edge Mountains or Zangarmarsh.)

WOW Alchemy Guide – Grand Master Alchemy

• Levels 360-380: Elixirs of Major Shadow Power, Icy Mana Potion, Spellpower Elixir.
• Levels 380-400: Potions of Nightmares, Elixirs of Mighty Strength, Pygmy Oil, Elixirs of Mighty Agility
• Level 400-401: Northrend Alchemy Research, alchemy trinket (These two items allow you to discover new herbs and finish up your alchemy leveling more quickly.)
• Levels 401-425: Elixirs of Mighty Agility, Runic Healing Potion, Runic Mana Potion, Elixir of Lightning Speed, Transmutation of Earthsiege Diamond, Skyflare Diamond
• Levels 425-450: Flask of the Frost Wyrm, Flask of Stoneblood, Flask of Endless Rage, Flask of Pure Mojo
