WOW Tailoring Guide

Tailoring is probably the easiest crafting profession on World of Warcraft.  All you need are the various cloths which drop from creatures you’ll kill along the way.  Mages, warlocks, and priests will get the greatest benefit from choosing tailoring as one of their two primary professions because they can only wear cloth armor.  Many times you’ll be able to craft a better cloth piece of armor than what will drop from creatures along the way.

If you want to choose a second primary profession to go with tailoring, you might choose either enchanting or skinning.  Some tailoring patterns require skins, although these are so few that you could easily buy the skins you need on the auction house.  Enchanting also works well with tailoring because you can make your cloth armor even better by enchanting it.

At tailoring level 350, you can choose a tailoring specialization.  Specialized tailoring trainers are located in Shattrath City.  Characters with powers geared toward shadow or frost damage will want to choose Shadoweave Tailoring, which will give them the ability to make extra shadowcloths and create the Shadow’s Embrace set.  If your character’s powers are geared toward fire or arcane damage, your tailor should choose Spellfire Tailoring, which will give them the ability to make extra spellcloths and the Wrath of Spellfire set.  All healing characters should choose the Mooncloth Tailoring specialization.  This one allows them to make extra primal mooncloths and craft the Primal Mooncloth set.

As always, start by seeking out the tailoring trainer in any capital city to train on Apprentice Tailoring.  Don’t forget to keep visiting the trainer occasionally between tailoring levels to learn new patterns.

•    Levels 50 – 70:  Heavy Linen Gloves, Linen Bag
•    Levels 70 – 125:  Reinforced Linen Capes, Bolts of Woolen Cloth, Woolen Capes, Gray Woolen Shirts, Double-Stitched Woolen Shoulders

•    Levels 125 – 45:  Bolts of Silk Cloth
•    Levels 145 – 160: Azure Silk Hoods
•    Levels 160 – 170:  Silk Headband
•    Levels 170 – 175:  Formal White Shirt
•    Levels 175 – 185:  Bolts of Mageweave
•    Levels 185 – 200:  Crimson Silk Vest

•    Levels 200-225: Crimson Silk Pantaloons
•    Levels 225-275: Orange Mageweave Shirt, Black Mageweave Shoulders, Black Mageweave Gloves, Bolts of Runecloth, Black Mageweave Headband
•    Levels 275 – 300:  Runecloth Bags, Runecloth Belts, Runecloth Gloves, Runecloth Headbands

WOW Tailoring Guide – Master Tailoring

•    Levels 300 – 325:  Bolts of Netherweave
•    Levels 325 – 350:  Bolts of Imbued Netherweave, Netherweave Boots, Netherweave Tunic
•    Levels 350 – 375:  Any items from your specialization, Bolts of Frostweave, the Arcanoweave set

WOW Tailoring Guide – Grand Master Tailoring

•    Levels 375 – 400: Frostwoven Belts, Frostwoven Cowls, Frostwoven Boots
•    Levels 400 – 425: Bolts of Imbued Frostweave, Duskweave Wristwraps, Duskweave Boots, Duskweave Gloves
•    Levels 425 – 440:  Frostweave Bags
•    Levels 440 – 450: Any epic items other players request.  You’ll have to advertise your profession abilities on trade chat.
